I’ve been in the automotive industry since 2002, starting on the shop floor as a technician and working my way through nearly every role in fixed operations.
Early in my career I became an ASE Master Technician, focusing heavily on diagnostics. Over time I moved into service writing and service management, gaining a deeper understanding of the operational side of running a profitable shop.
I later transitioned into the motorcycle industry, where I managed service operations, handled warranty administration, and eventually became Parts and Service Director. That role gave me a full view of how successful service departments operate—from technician workflow and parts management to customer experience and profitability.
Eventually I purchased my own independent automotive repair shop. Through disciplined processes, operational systems, and a focus on profitability, I transformed that shop into a highly professional and profitable operation.
Running my own shop taught me something important:
Most independent repair shops don’t struggle because of a lack of skill or effort.
They struggle because the systems behind the business aren’t built to support profitability and growth.
That realization led me to start Kessler Fixed Ops.
Today I work with independent repair shop owners to build the operational systems that increase profit, reduce chaos, and restore control to their businesses.
If you’re looking to improve workflow, strengthen pricing strategy, and build a shop that runs smoothly and profitably, I’d enjoy the opportunity to learn about your business.
Who I Work Best With
I work best with independent repair shop owners who are serious about improving their operations and building a profitable, well-run business.
The shop owners I help most often typically look like this:
Independent repair shops
Owner-operators who are actively involved in the business.
Shops with 2–20 employees
Large enough to need real systems, but still flexible enough to implement change.
Owners who want stronger profitability
Shops that are busy but know their margins and processes could be better.
Operators who value systems and process
Business owners who want to improve workflow, pricing structure, technician productivity, and overall shop performance.
Leaders who are open to honest feedback
Owners who are willing to evaluate how their shop runs and implement changes that improve the bottom line.
Who This Is Not For
Kessler Fixed Ops is not a good fit for:
• hobby shops
• side businesses
• owners unwilling to change processes
• shops not interested in improving profitability
My focus is helping serious shop owners build systems that make their businesses more profitable and less chaotic.
If That Sounds Like Your Shop
